My deepest sympathy to you Bebe and your family at this sad time. I knew Gerard for nearly 50 years. Played against him many times in the Antrim leaguez. Refereed games he played in and played in games he refereed. A fine hurler and referee. Always a true sportsman. We met often when he refereed Antrim games and many times in the Athletic Grounds. A fine man and always a gentlenan whom it was my privldge to know. A Mhúir na nGael guith ar Gearoid agus do chann ag an am bronach seo. Éamonn

Deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to Bebe, Roisín, Connor and Ciarraí, together with your extended family, on the death of a Gerard. RIP. Suaimhneas siorraí.
My sincere condolences to Ger’s family. He was always so proud of his family and their achievements. I got to know Ger through refereeing and many times we togged out together. It was always a pleasure to share a pitch and a dressing room with Ger. He loved the chat and banter with his regular travelling companion Jim McKee often the target for a bit of fun. Referees don’t always agree with each other on every decision but there is unanimity within the refereeing community that Ger Devlin was one of a kind, a total gentleman. May Ger rest in peace and may his family find solace in remembering his goodness.
