Sincere condolences to all Gerrys Family. Those who had the pleasure to know Gerry know what a kind and funny man he was who will be dearly missed. I will forever miss his stories on our evening shifts in work.

Gerry/ lurch private joke. i do not know were to begin i met you 20 years ago . Everyone calls you the quiet man i can only think that is about how softly you spoke. As you could rant you were so missed when you got moved by sallynoggin. As we said it was not goodbye but see you later.

Really thought you be back not going pretend we got on over the 10 maybe 11 years we worked together we had ups and downs.

But i will say this you helped me in so many ways(not just with work but personal) even after an arguement.I will miss your wit your advice your pics of grand kids your stories of your family. (But most of all will miss that smile)
your board for thiefed you could had this (lets not go there)

Absolutely stunned to hear of Gerrys passing. I was privileged to work with Gerry for a number of years in Woodies and can only describe him him as an absolute gentleman.

We had a great chat in our front gardens only a few days before he travelled to Achill. We were shocked and saddened to hear he passed so suddenly. Dreadful news to hear of such a premature passing. I had the pleasure of working alongside Gerry for a number of years in Woodies Sandyford. I could best describe him as a Gentleman and a gentle man. My heart goes out to his whole family. RIP.

I was very shocked and greatly saddened when I heard the news of Gerard's sudden death. I have fond memories of starting school with Gerard and spending many hours playing together in his house and lovely big back garden on Butterfield Park. I can only repeat what has been said about him again and again here, he was a decent and good man. He had a nice touch of mischief about him too. The world is a poorer place with his leaving it. Rest in peace Gerry.

I have been able to talk to some members of the family individually, but right now I just want to convey condolences from Linda and myself, especially to Gerard’s daughters and grandchildren and to all his siblings, nephews, and nieces. Very sad news and we are very sorry we cannot be with you tomorrow for the funeral. We will be there in spirit and we will be watching, of course. Hugs will have to wait, probably until next year. Like Alan McEntee, I remember baby-sitting in Rathfarnham way back (as does Linda, although in her case not quite all the way back to the 1960s). Love to all.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Gerard’s passing. Over the last few days, I have been reminiscing about my early years in Butterfield Park and how Gerard featured in them. Some of my happiest memories include Gerard. Gerard, Brian and I certainly got ourselves into a lot of mischief and managed to take apart just about anything mechanical that came within our reach. I’ll always remember the Christmas I got a new bike and, with Gerard’s encouragement, we made what we felt were serious improvements to the bike’s aerodynamics and speed by removing the mud guards and changing the gears. Gerard was always amiable and good-natured and easy to be around.

I cannot imagine the depths of your grief and I am truly sorry for your loss. Gerard will be greatly missed.
