I am sorry to hear the news of the passing of your father, Ger Butterly, and wish your family comfort and peace during these sad times.

Dear Pat and family.
We were so sad to hear of poor Ger's passing.
He brought a real happy, joyful spark to the neighbourhood.
Mary's father Jimmy loved him and spoke highly of him. Of course Jimmy would be collecting a wreath for the family grave and would always be late back to us for dinner. On some occasions when Ger called over I had the thrill and pleasure of listening to two gentlemen regaling amazing stories from their past days and life experiences. Often leading to convulsions of laughter and one would find a few words of wisdom in those great stories.
We always knew when Spring had arrived as a gentle smiling face would knock on the door and kindly ask if it was alright to collect a few cuttings.
How could one resist such a kind plea from a gentle soul. Occasionally there was even an old tipple to be shared. Often one would see the garage doors slightly open, the lights on and hard work taking place inside. It was part and parcel of the area, and sadly missed in later years.
Ger will be very sadly missed indeed and it was a real pleasure to have shared some wonderful and now precious times in his company.
