Gerard (Ger) Fitzgerald

I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ger.
Like everybody else, I had hoped Ger would turn up safe and well.
I knew Ger, if only in a casual way from encounters in the town but also from his visits to Bray Library over the years.
Sharp, funny, intelligent and engaged.
Ger has departed from our lives all to soon.
It has been said that the measure of a life is not in its duration, but in its donation. What you give of yourself in your life, no matter its length.
The many tributes paid here to Ger testify to that truth.
I hope that these sentiments will be of assistance in comforting his family at this sad time.
Ger, may your gentle soul have eternal peace.

I grew up with Ger on James Everett Park and was shocked to hear he'd gone missing. I was so hoping it wouldn't end this way. I just want to share that he was a friendly, funny kid and I will remember him fondly. I hope the memories and well-wishes expressed here will give his family some respite from their grief.
