When I think if Ger I think of music, books and the outdoors, Ger introduced me to much of my favourite music, The Wileaways, Iris DeMent, John Prine. Marý Black, Nancy Griffin, I could go on and on. We both liked the same kind of music. Spent a day with him in Clonmel on Busking Day. It was a great day. We heard that wonderful family, blood harmony singing in the streets. I had always hoped that Ger could come back to Iceland with his hiking buddy to walk some of the mountains in Iceland or to Lofoten to Anna . He would have loved it.
Thank you Ger for the 67 years we shared , especially our childhood years in Dunmore , and all the other places we met and events where our lives touched. You were a brilliant brother and much loved. So sad I cannot be with you all today.
My love to Carmel, Anne and Brian, Rose, Vera, Bonnie, Annie and Robin.

I had the pleasure of serving with Ger for many years on Bord Bainistiochta don Gaelscoil Chluain Meala. He was always on top of his brief and always affable and kmowledgable.
