We were so very sorry to hear of Gerry’s passing and even more sorry not to be there for what we heard afterwards was a lovely fitting celebration of Gerry’s love of music. He had an amazing capacity for patience and kindness for all musicians young and old, with words of encouragement that we needed to push us along to continue. I know all in my family will be forever grateful to him for the wonderful gift he gave us all and may he rest in peace. Thinking of Shirley and all the family

Gerry left a legacy of love of music with hundreds of young people during his 40 + years leading Ratheniska CCE. His encouragement, his celebration of achievement, every achievement was big and was his motivator. Gerry had great patience and everyone was equal in his sessions. Tuesday nights, concerts, the marching band and lots more hold great memories for all of us.
" Mol an óige agus tiocfaid siad" had real meaning in Gerrys teaching and coaching.

Gerry was a magician of Irish Music. He had a wonderful way of teaching and passing on his love of Irish music. He also had a wonderful sense of humor. But most of all..he was kind and had time for everyone. We are all forever grateful to Gerry he will be sadly missed , he will always be remembered by all the McGees in Treascon.
