Sad to learn of Gerry's death too late to attend his funeral. When i visited his home delivering meals on wheels, i found Gerry to be a real gentleman, who bore his being housebound with courage and good humour.

Ah Gerry, the reason I had to eat 20 courses of a meal in Belgium one time because he didnt feel well. Despite that he was good craic. Great to have spent time with you and Eric. Farewell comrade.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Uncle Gerry’s passing. Some of my fondest childhood memories include him—like when he’d slip a pound into my pocket so Pierce, Joseph, and I could run off to the shops for sweets. He and Wendy always made us feel welcome in their home, and those visits remain some of my most cherished memories.

Uncle Gerry had a real warmth and generosity about him, but he was also strong-willed—a quality that no doubt served him well in his career as a union official. He stood for what he believed in and cared deeply for those around him.

He’ll be remembered with great love, respect, and gratitude by all of us who were lucky enough to know him.

I really like the photo of Gerry. It shows him at his best-always immaculate. I worked with Gerry for a couple of years in SIPTU and again when he was appointed a Rights Commissioner. Gerry was very proud of and enjoyed all his work especially his important work with the Construction Industry Monitoring Agency,FAS and the Employment Appeals Tribunal. Apart from his sharp wit,Gerry was very direct and never ever to be underestimated. He was very popular with and supportive of the young staff in the Rights Commissioner Service. May he rest in peace now.

So sorry to hear of Gerrys passing , Gerry was a massive influence on me personally and was very good to my father and family , his impact on the Painting trade and his dedication to improving wages and conditions will always be remembered , Gerry always strove to look after the membership and raise the profile of the trade and I personally would not be where I am today without the help he afforded me .The Lundy family will never forget his friendship and loyalty may he rest in much deserved peace .
