So sorry to hear about the passing of Gerry. What a beautiful kind man, always so kind to our dear Mum, had her special red cup & saucer, eventually gave it to her in case it got broken on his watch!!! I’d say they are having great chats up in heaven. My sympathy to his lovely son Daire, and daughter.
may he RIP
Dearest Olwyn and Daire, Deepest and heartfelt condolences to you on the loss of you lovely dad Gerry. On seeing his acknowledgement I learned about my lovely friend Mary, whose company and phone chats I cherished so much, and I was completely shocked to see that she had left this world in Sept last without me knowing. Our thoughts are with you both and she spoke of you often and with such pride and love, as she did with Gerry. May they rest in peace ❤
Im shocked to learn of Gerry's passing.
I supplied fish to Gerry for many years and always loved chatting to the man.
My sincere condolonces to Olwyn and Daire.

He was a true gentleman. It is with great sadness that we learned of Gerry’s passing away.
Always a friendly warm welcome on those cold rainy mornings and he really looked after us,
We used to joke saying to him this is the real number if you need us in an emergency and giving him the mobile don’t be dialing 999.
Rest In Peace Gerry.

I was very sad to learn of Gerry's passing. As a staff member in DIT Kevin St, I visited his restaurant countless times over the years and treasure my memories of many happy meals there. Gerry created a little piece of heaven on Montague St. A true gentleman, he will be sorely missed. Deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
So sad I didn't know that Gerry passed away. He was a lovely fella. I will miss Gerry in his Cafe he always made me feel so welcome great man, great cafe, great food. My Condolences to Gerry's Family and Friends R.I.P
Camden St and the surrounding area will never be the same. In fact, it hasn't been the same since Gerry's Cafe closed last summer. Gerry would always have a cheery, positive word and a smile for people on the street or in his cafe. A total gent. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Thanks for everything, Gerry. Rest in peace.
I only found out this morning about the passing of both Gerry & Mary and would like to extend my deepest sympathies to their family - Daire in particular. I was a regular in 'Gerry's' for a good number of years and always loved going in there - not just for the food, which was of a really high quality, but also the conversations and chats with his 'regulars'. Both Gerry and Mary were so welcoming and Daire continued on that tradition in more recent times. Just wanted to say that I have often walked passed 'Gerrys', hoping that it would be open, and really miss going in there. Really saddened to hear of the passing of both your mum & dad, Daire - can only add that they have both left a fantastic legacy behind.
I turned up at the cafe only last Friday 8th April hoping to have a legendary dinner of bacon and cabbage or pork chops potatoes vegetables and gravy a good honest dinner followed by an apple crumble and custard with a full mug of tea only to find the place closed and the wreath on the door. How very sad the loss of Gerry is and his immortal cafe; I always headed there for a right proper feed when down in Dublin and with all that has gone in the past two years I assumed somethings would be the same. A legend, he always said hi ya are you down from Sligo again. Gerry and his cafe will be so sadly missed a true reminder of the rare auld times. May Gerry Rest in Peace.
To Margaret, Mary and Michael and the extended Horgan families. Our sincere sympathy on your beloved brothers passing.

Its with great sadness that I heard of Gerrys passing. He was truly a legend in Wexford Street. As well as having lunches for many years (even after I retired) he made both my Christmas cakes and puddings for years. He had lots of friends in both the Children’s Hospital and the Meath hospital. It will be hard to find the likes of him again. May Gerrys gentle soul rest in peace.
