I remember especially the friendship between the McDonalds and the Heathers and especially between my sister, Betty Heather, and Margaret. Betty would have been greatly saddened by Gerry's passing. Gerry was a good man.

It is with great sadness I learned of Gerry's passing. He was a valued regular at An Góilín Traditional singing session on Friday nights where he contributed often with his fine repertoire of Ulster songs. On behalf of An Góilín I wish to pass sincere condolences to his wife, family and friends.

It was with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Gerry.
A friend,colleague and comrade. We came to OSI in April 1963 and have great memories of that 9 months course together. He was one of life's good guys, quiet, kind and inoffensive.
