Ann and family, we were very sorry to hear of Gerry's death. We couldn't be there at the Funeral Mass but watched online. It was a moving and beautiful ceremony. Ar dheis láimh Dé go raibh a anam agus leaba i measc na naomh go raibh aige.

I first met Gerry at a T.U.I. meeting in the Royal George Hotel, a meeting that had been called to discuss what attitude the Branch should take to the competing claims of those seeking the post of Head of the New School of Engineering to be based in the new building at Moylish Park. That was in late '75 or early '76. From the time of that meeting and through the decades that followed I developed a great regard for Gerry as a colleague in the institution that eventually became L.I.T., and as a fellow member of the T.U.I..
I offer my deepest sympathy to Gerry's family on their sad loss. Mass on Thursday evening in the church of San Lorenzo in Palmanova will be offered for the repose of his gentle soul.

Deepest sympathies to all the Mulhern family on the passing of Gerry. Gerry was a gentleman, always with a smile and happily gave of his time to others. He helped me and many other newcomers to LIT back in the 90s and many of us were sad to see him retire. All of Gerry's past students remember him fondly and we still hear kind words from them about him to this day. May Gerry Rest in Peace.

Dear Ann, Sive, Gearóid and family, my sympathy to you on the death of Gerry. May he rest in peace. Gerry was a gentleman, a great colleague and good fun. He made me very welcome when I started back in Limerick RTC and always when we met up in recent years. Ní bheith a leithéid arís ann.

It was with deep shock and great sadness that I learned of the passing of Gerry. Deepest sympathies to his wife Ann and children Sive and Gearóid. I had the honor and privilege of meeting and working with Gerry through the Teachers Union of Ireland and more recently he was the secretary of the Limerick Branch of the TUI Retired Members’ Association. Gerry was always interested in supporting and looking after the welfare and wellbeing of his colleagues both working and retired. He will be sadly missed by all of us who were privileged have known and worked with him.
