I was very sad to hear the news of Gerry's death. I got to know Gerry through the 80's and 90's in OBCC and I played in the great team he captained through the 90's. His great skill was looking after younger players in the club and I have fond memories of all the guys who played through those years. I last saw Gerry in 2015 when he came to Malahide CC to see a game I was playing in (for Greystones CC). He laughed at the fact I was captain of the team, but I said to him I had a great teacher.
My deepest condolences to all Gerry's family.

Gerard's and my parents were friends years ago, and he and I often played par 3 pitch and putt together in Santry in the mid-1960s. God rest a good guy, and comfort Marie and Eithne in your loss.
