Paul, Siobhán and Orla and families, I was very sorry to hear from my sister Patricia about the passing of your Dad. I have great memories of visiting in the Pheonix Park with Patricia to see Ursula and the kindness we received from both your Dad and Mam. Ursula is often in our thoughts. Your Dad was a true gentleman, may he rest in peace with your Mam and Ursula.

My condolences to all of Gerry's family. His devotion to his faith and family were always obvious. I have such fond memories of witnessing the spell little Laura had on him as he scoured shops in Donegal looking for the perfect doll to gift her. He was an adoring grandfather. Most of all, Gerry was kind and full of goodness. He and my father were very much alike and their shared humility prevented them from seeing in themselves what they saw in the other: decency, honesty, integrity and specialness. They were dear friends and dear men.

Along with the Noctors, I grew up in the American Ambassador's Residence in the Phoenix Park. I have nothing, but great memories of that time and of sharing such a unique upbringing with all of the Noctor, O'Donoghue and Byrne families. I remember Gerry as being a warm, funny, old school gentleman. Always kind and good-humoured, Impeccably dressed, I was permanently enthralled by the neatness of his moustache, but mostly I will remember his natural warmth and friendliness. My thoughts are with you Orla, Siobhan, Paul and of course also remembering at this time Sheila and Ursula. Much love.
