What a debt many of us owe to Ger Horan. For decades through his beloved Pathe Hotel he supported so many community organisations and was pivotal, since its foundation in 1950, in the development of RFC. Not too well known is his outstanding support in the 70s and 80s for the creation of Roscrea Heritage and the ongoing restoration projects. I am sure that countless local clubs and societies can speak of his assistance through the years. His continued support for the annual Roscrea People of the Year celebrations is just one that comes to mind. What a loss the Pathe was to the town.
Sympathies to all his beloved family on the passing of a true gentleman and gentle man. My abiding picture of him is with his bunch of keys and a dishcloth over his left shoulder. I am sure he will find great use for them in the hostelry in the heavens.
