I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of my dear friend Ger. May he rest in love and peace. Gerard was a lovely person who brought joy and happiness to all he met. Some years ago I wrote the music for a requiem for my mother which was beautifully by Laura Dolan. I asked Ger what he thought of the music, he said it is not a proper requiem without the 'Holy Holy', so now I will compose that Sanctus and dedicate it to his memory. I hope he would consider it to be a worthy contribution to all the plaudits he is receiving. Much sympathy to all the Dolan Family.

I have such fond memories of Gerry in both the Birr Stage Guild and the Choir. He was always so kind and encouraging to the younger crowd. We were lucky enough to have him sing at our wedding and almost 30 years on people still remember the beautiful singing he did on our behalf. May his gentle soul rest in peace. xx
