On behalf of all the Board of Directors, Management, and Fundraising team at Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, I would like to express our deepest condolences to Margaret and Gerry’s family and friends on his passing. Gerry was a beloved volunteer and true friend to the Hospice for many years and we are truly saddened to hear of his passing.

His commitment, energy, encouragement, and kindness, always kindness, will be remembered by so many. Gerry was also instrumental in raising significant funds for the hospice over many years that have supported countless patients and their families.

He leaves a legacy at the Hospice of kindness, integrity, friendship, and dedication.

It was with great sadness that i learned of the very sad passing of Gerry. Deepest sympathy to Margaret his niece Mary nephews Mark Gerry John Michael John Paul Timmy and Tony and extended McDonagh family. I was privileged to be a member of Gerry's fundraising committee for Our Lady's Hospice Harolds Cross of which his sterling services will be a lasting legacy.May his memory and lifes work be a comfort and inspiration to his family and to all who new him. May the soil of his native Ballinfad rest lightly on his gentle soul

Sincere thanks to each and everyone of you for your kind messages of sympathy for my beloved Gerry. Reading through them it gives me great comfort to know how much Gerry was loved and respected. He would be very humbled and maybe a bit embarrassed. For me who new the real person Gerry was all that and more I miss him and treasure every moment we spent together.Until we meet again Slan and as you would say yourself Margaret you need to earn a few more browny points to get there.

Gerry was the best next door neighbour anyone could ask for, he was an absolute gent and incredibly generous. He never forgot our daughter’s birthday. Loved the little chats we had each time we met. He was an inspiration in how to live life to the fullest to the very end. Deepest sympathy to Margaret and Gerry's family. He will be missed.

Gerry was a wonderful, kind, talented man. He did an enormous amount of good work but always gave the credit for it to others. The planning meetings for his annual Hospice Wine & Cheese Fundraiser were the stuff that legends are make of!
