Gerard McSweeney

Sad to hear of the loss of Gerard my cousin who kindly hosted our American family in Loughill in 2010 with his lovely wife Bridget. He was a friendly link to our Irish roots in Loughill. Condolences to his sons, and to the O’Briens, and the rest of the family.

We spent many a happy day together both in the classrooms and out in the gardens of Gerald Griffins NS. We did subscribe very much to winning the national schools roadside garden competition as did many more of 5th and 6th class. I spent many a happy hour in Gerards home down the village.
