I will miss you Uncle Gerry, the music, the chats, the memories, watching Nationwide and Reeling in the Years and anything with traditional music and John Creedon, doing suduko, enjoying a meal. I made you colcannon once. You hadn't had it in years, and it led to many stories and a session with the tin whistle. Your stories fascinated me and your memory was extraordinary. They say music is love in search of a word. Your own world was filled with music and you filled ours with it too. Rest in peace, gentle soul. God speed.

On this occasion you were hanging out a first floor window and had a roll of wire like a lasso attempting to aim at a high pole at the end of the garden. Like a lot of your challenges it worked but not without me being absolutely scared that you would tumble to the ground. Happy days Gerry.

To the Murray Family my sympathies to you all. I have lovely memories of Gerry as we called him in our home as I grew up in Kilrickle. I am delighted to have visited with him last Thursday 22nd Dec where we had a long chat and he played the tin whistle for me, a tune he taught me as a child . Sadly I did not expect it to me my final visit. Eternal rest to him as he leaves this world. RIP
