Dear Kathleen and family
I am very sorry for your loss. Gerry was such a great character, larger than life and you two were such a great team. He was the quintessential Kerry man, full of charm, wit and bonhomie and he had that deep musical Kerry accent. He was always very welcoming and kind to me and to all the other neighbours and always such a gentleman. Your home became the drop in centre for all of us!

"But O for the touch of a vanished hand
And the sound of a voice that is still "
Tennyson
Hard to believe that such a force of nature, such a great character, such a great voice and unforgettable presence has been stilled.

What will not be is the indelible impression Gerry has made on all who had the privilege of crossing his long and distinguished path and that of his wonderful family.

Dear Kathleen and family, please receive our deepest sympathies over Gerry's passing. I have such warm memories of the house in Moyville and different camping trips. It was a pleasure to have known your husband/father. May he rest in peace
I wish to convey my sincerest sympathy to the family of Gerry on his recent passing. I got to know Gerry through a circle of friends who met in Frank Ryan's Bar of Queen street in the late 90's where he and colleagues from the Bridewell met on Fridays for an evening of socialising, warm chat and much laughter over pints. I had great admiration and respect for him and his work, both in An Garda Siochana and laterally as a crime journalist. I found him to be a man of integrity, cordial, very personable and convivial . RIP Gerry.
