We would like to offer our deepest sympathy to the O'Neill family on the sad passing Gerard. We were house mates and he was best man for me over 30yrs ago in Boston. We lost touch but Gerard was never far from out thoughts when we talked about the states. I am sorry that we missed his funeral today but will get out to Ballyconneely to pay our respects. I am reminded regularly that Gerard is still fondly remembered here in Wicklow after all of 40 years , by those he worked with on building with his father Vallie , he came for a years when he was just 16 years old.
He was a strong and enthusiastic young man, with a joyful personality which he carried through his life and which we can see from his photo.
He is gone far too soon.
We shall travel to the West at the weekend ,to say our final sad farewell.
We both offer our condolences to his Brothers ,Sisters Cousins and Friends
