I’m so sorry to hear about Gerrard’s passing, always a lovely gentleman. My sympathies to you all.

It’s comforting to think he’s now reunited with Bridie—such wonderful people to have known through the years when they visited Renard.

I am so sorry to hear of Gerry’s passing. I have fond memories of his classes at school in Carrick back in the ‘70’s. He was a great teacher and had a great ability to communicate and command the respect of his class. As head teacher he was always fair, but when required, he was also prepared to push the boundaries to benefit his pupils. I always enjoyed meeting him on my visits back to Carrick over the years.

It is with fond memories that I remember Gerry as my Woodwork and Technical drawing teacher when I attended the Carrick Tech in the mid 1960’s, a true gentleman and always issuing good advice, some that I can still hear him say vividly “measure twice and cut once”.
Gerry left a positive lasting impact on those who had the privilege of being his student.
