Deepest sympathy and condolences to Siobhán and family on the death of Gerry. We were privileged to know him over a number of years and we’re always impressed with his innate good nature and implacable manners. He was a great addition to Comhaltas Cluain Tarbh. He was a stalwart performer on St Stephen’s Day when we went on the Wren and he sang the verses to the traditional Wren song with great style. We invariably had a lot of very young musicians on these occasions and I observed Gerry extending them every courtesy with endless patience.
He also served the community on Near FM with his programme on Irish music and song. Gerry was one of nature’s gentlemen and he will be greatly missed by Siobhán and her family and a wide circle of friends.
