I was very sad to hear of the passing of Gerry, A Legend in Ballymote, The first man in our local town to set up a Mental Health Association group in the 80,s , when it was unheard of, a group which I was part of and thoroughly enjoyed. I have many happy memories of my Mother shopping on a Friday afternoon In the shop . Gerry and Ester were so good to my Mother . There was always great craic in the shop and the 99s were just the best, thank you for the memories, rest in peace Gerry & Ester

Jude, Plunkett and family, we were so sad to learn of your Dad’s passing. I remember how lovely and welcoming he was to me a few times I was over to the house. His apple tarts were my favorite! I have fond memories of Gerry on my trips to Ballymote as a child, over from America to visit my Granny, Annie Finan. Stopping into the shop on the corner of Teeling Steet after Mass for a 99 ice cream with my Irish cousins and family members. Gerry was always so good to my grandmother, my father and my aunties and uncle. May Gerry rest in eternal peace with his beloved Ester now and forever.
