To Joan and family, my most sincere condolences on Gerry's death. I always enjoyed meeting you both at the bridge table and on walks around the seafront.

I just cannot believe that the man who was probably my oldest friend in this world has passed on. Gerry and I shared a ward in the Orthopedic Hospital in Clontarf in 1963/1964 and have been friends ever since, sharing a love of Bob Dylan and attending some of his Dublin concerts. I have only seen this notice now, and am so sad that I am in and out of St. Vincent's for treatment all the time, never realizing Gerry was there. My deepest condolences to Joan and all their relations. It's sad beyond the reach of words. Ray Cranley.
