We were deeply saddened to here of the passing of our dear friend Gerry. We send our sincere sympathy to Dermot, Fiona & Bláithín, Grandchildren, extended family and friends. Gerry was a special person, a true gentleman and it was always a pleasure to meet him. He always had a great welcome, a handshake where or whatever was the event. We have lovely memories of visiting him when coming back from Northern Fleadhanna and Monaghan calling for the chat and getting the update on events and Fiona and family were there on many occasions. Gerry gave freely of his time, talents, knowledge and experience and his valuable advice and ideas were always welcome. This he shared, not only in his community, but also with Comhaltas and other organisations, as he loved and promoted of all things Irish, music, song, dance and also GAA matches and activities. He was so proud of all the activities in Glenfarne and the Ballroom of Romance was his second home. Gerry will be missed in his community and beyond, but he will be remembered for the legacy that he has left behind. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time. May God give the family strength to bear your sad loss. May Gerry rest in the great peace of Heaven with his dear wife Bridie, granddaughter Ciara, goddaughter Bernadette and family members and friends gone before. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis uasal. Ní bheidh a leithéidh ann arís.
Please accept our sincerest condolences. May your memories bring you comfort as you move forward. We will keep you all in our prayers.

Deepest sympathies to all the Finneran and Egan families and the extended family at this most difficult time. Heaven has gained another most beautiful angel. t's hard to adequately express in words how truly heartbroken we are that Gerry is gone to God. He did so much to promote our traditional irish music, culture and heritage. I remember him taking me to ceilis all around the North West as a young adult. Gerry was like the Daddy of Comhaltas in Glenfarne. His opinion really counted. Years have passed on, and his dedication has been steadfast, always involved in our decision making. Looking for new ideas,Sharing his experience so freely. It was such a privilege to have Gerry, Blaithin and Fiona at our recent Leitrim County Fleadh, and even better to celebrate his birthday with him at the fíor ceili in the Rainbow Ballroom. Gerry, thanks for everything. You will remain in our hearts forever. We will miss you at the weekly music classes, May you now Rest In Peace. Slán go foill.

Sincere sympathy to Dermot, Fíona, Bláithín, the wider Finneran family and the people of Glenfarne and Leitrim, on the sad death of Gerry, RIP.. There was just one Gerry and it's fair to say, ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís.
Gerry's commitment to family, community, Leitrim, sport, esp.
football, Comhaltas and traditional music and his beloved 'Rainbow Ballroom' was unparalleled.
I've known Gerry for decades and although we didn't meet much in recent years, I'll never forget his absolute sincerity, trustworthiness and totally genuine friendship.
I was unable to get to the funeral, but I thought, having the ballroom involved, was a lovely gesture and the Mass, as I'd expect, was appropriately beautiful. Slán go fóill Gerry a chara.
