Belated condolences and deepest sympathy to Gillian, Rosie, Molly, and to Collette.

Gerry was a warm, witty, wise and welcoming presence in Sheridan's for many years, where I loved to chat with him.

Rest in Peace, and sleep well, Gerry.
Gerry. I hope and pray that you are looking after us from heaven, I know you are x. To Gerry's family...he was and is a special soul. I am so sorry for your loss. Wishing you peace and love.
It took me a while to bring myself to do this and frankly my dear, I'm still not prepared as this was too soon, clearly, and outrageous.
You were one of the first people I befriended these years ago when I set foot in this country and even though I don't give my friendship easily, you were disarming, all jovial, witty, considerate, discrete, generous... sarcastic!
In work, you were the mortar that held together the hot headed enthusiasm of our youth, the wisdom that we didn't possess yet, the experienced and kind host who could read people beyond their petulance and excentricities.
After work, back in the day, you were a friend we shared our thoughts with around a couple of drinks, sometimes a meal, always chatting with the next man, i felt proud being around you.
All that's left to do now is keep inspired by your aura, we'll be mourning you for a long time but with a fair amount of giggles. You wouldn't want us to become too serious.
All my thoughts to Rosie, Molly, Gillian, Colette and those I didn't know.
Hope there's good rock'n'roll wherever you go.
Gerry, you brightened every room you ever walked into, your wry smile and a murmured "Ah, musha lads" stilled many an overheated discussion and that slightly raised left eyebrow of yours punctured all pomposity, and self-regarding indignation. You said more with your eyes than most could with a megaphone.
You left us in an awful hurry - not your usual style at all - and we were very unprepared for a life without you, 'cos you were great fun, very smart and full of little surprises with a great taste in music.
Thinking of Gillian, Rosie and Molly who will miss you something fierce, and also the rest of your family at this sad, sad time.
That's it, so, I suppose...
Dear Gillian, Rosie, Mollie, and the Galway community who are feeling this huge sense of loss and grief; my heart goes out to you all.

Gerry, thank you for the countless happy (and very funny) memories, the clever banter, your lending ear (and wisdom), your kind and generous heart, and awakened spirit.

Go n-éirí an bóthar leat, Gerry; may you continue to inspire us, with love, Tara

Gerry,
This was such a sad and unexpected news.

It was so wonderful to work with you years ago in the Sheridan’s wine bar.
We had lots of chats and lots of laughs as well.
You were always kind, ready to give advice if asked, but also ready to tell jokes and have a bit of craic.

Our deepest heartfelt condolences from Fergal and I to Gillian, the girls and the rest of the family.

You will be missed. Che la terra ti sia lieve.
Dear Gerry's family and friends. I have worked in Sheridan's for few years with Gerry and I keep that memory in a precious place in my heart. Gerry was a sweet generous man. He was funny and so pertinent about what was happening around.

When I lived in Galway he was some kind of family for me.

Galway without Gerry can not be the same.

Gerry what a lovely man you were and how you will be missed. You taught me everything I know about being a barman, but only a fraction of what you knew!
The Quays back in the day was an institution and you were one of the guiding lights.
You helped make Galway the amazingly unique city we all love so much. Thanks for all the laughs, rest in peace.
Deepest sympathy
May he lie in peace forever
