My sincere condolences to the extended Hannigan family on the death of Gerry.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Gerard Hannigan and we wish to extend our sincere sympathy to his daughters Derbhla and Karen and son Garret together with his sisters, Ríona, Mary, Anne and Gretta and the extended family.

Deepest sympathies to Derbhla, Karen, Garret and the entire Hannigan & Gallagher families on your recent loss. Gerry is fondly remembered by many in Dundalk RFC. Gerry Hannigan was a titan as a second row for many seasons. He is remembered for his famous question " Who is the best second row in this club and why am I?". He also was involved in the very early Youth Development with a Dublin Road team. Gerry never forgot his time playing with Dundalk, even after work took him from the town. He returned to many functions over the years and always got a great welcome. Sincere condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.
