Sincere condolences to Anna and Daire. Lots of great memories of Gerard over the years. As kids, his Mam Angela would let us play in his tent and proudly showed us slides of his travels. He taught us how to cycle our bikes, running up and down the lane with us until we got the hang of it. He was full of fun and so mischievous. An amazing photographer too. RIP Gerard. Nuala & Phil - Edinburgh
My sincere condolences to Anna and all the family on hearing off Gerry’s Death. He was a lovely man. May he rest in peace
Gone home too soon.

I was so shocked and sad to hear of Gerry's death. I have such happy memories of him in SAI HQ, many moons ago when helping with Venture Scout Unit Development. Gerry was full of fun and in my mind, had the best job in the whole world!! Whenever I would bump into him, either at a scout event, or in Malahide he was always so delighted to say hello and then a good ol chat.
In Covid lockdown his beautiful photos were both a comfort and joy to me.
Gerry has Gone Home ; just gone far too soon.
Sincere and Heartfelt Condolences to Anna, and all the family.
Becky Killick ; former VSL TROGHOP VSU; 54th Dublin, Cornelscourt Group.

Anna, Dáire and Katie.

I had the pleasure of knowing Gerry for 25 years and working with him for the last 15. He was a wonderful colleague and a great friend. He will be missed by so many people all around the Country, but most of all by you. All of us in Scouting Ireland remember Gerry as true gentleman and a Scout to the core.

Very sorry to hear the sad news of Gerry's passing.
Condolences to Anna and all the family.
May he Rest in Peace.
Deepest condolances to Anna and family. I was very saddned to hear that Gerry has "gone home". I had known Gerry since our days in SAI. Gerry had a mischevious sense of humour and an ability to cheer everyone up. Gerry had an uncanny ability to turn up camera in hand at unexpected moments, I cherish a photo taken by Gerry of myself and my daughter swimming with a dolphin off the west Clare coast. As a Group Leader Gerry was a great help to me and a source of great wisdom. He will be missed. Fair winds to you Gerry on your final journey. Ar dheis Dé go raibh do anamh dílis

I was so sorry to hear of Gerry's passing. I got to know Gerry just after the setting up of SI. I took on the role of CC in Meath. Coming from a CSI background 85% of my new groups were from the former SAI and as a result I knew very few of the leaders in my new groups. That did not last long when Gerry took me under his wing and guided me around parts of Meath I never knew existed and supported myself and my team. Two years later I left Meath and took on the role of National Secretary. He was delighted for me and for his own province he has the NS operating in his patch and once again he was of benefit to me during the first year of my term giving me backgrounds to the new people I was working with. I can still hear him call MICK Can I talk to you?

I am sure he is catching up now with a lot of his old scouting pals that have also passed on.

Anna and Daire my condolences to you and all your family may Gerry Rest in peace.

Mick
