I met Gerry in 1998 when I was 18 and a student working in Engineering in Square D Company. Although he was 20 years older than me, he treated me with respect and kindness and was a nice person to be around. I was a bit nervous joining a well-established workforce at that time, but I soon blended in with the rest and Gerry was part of that induction. He will live fondly in my memory and to Phil and all the family you should be proud of a good sound man.

I had the pleasure of working with Gerry in the Workhouse for a number of years. He was excellent at relaying the story of the workhouse to visitors. Always had time for that bit of an extra chat with tourists, which they appreciated. Gerry was always in good form, very reliable and obliging - nothing was too much bother. I am so sorry to hear of his sudden passing. My condolences to Gerry's family. As he would say himself when visitors were leaving the Workhouse 'God bless'
