I have a little Godson Aaron Greene is his name
Even though he’s a Devil I love him just the same
He nearly pulled the house down the last time he came
but a Godson in a million sure he never gets the blame

I’m hoping to see him on his birthday again
He lives just up the road in the village of Loughlynn
He loves Ballinultha for the crack and a spin
on the bar of the bike with his Godfather McGlynn

I’m afraid he’ll frighten Helen when she’s passing in her car
that legal assistant who should have been called to ‘The Bar’
He likes to go for a drive but we don’t go very far
just out to Joe Sweeneys or to see Enda Carr

The days of my childhood he reminds me of them
when we played in the schoolyard at Kiltycreighton
The boys and the girls they all played just like him
where my grandparents taught little children like them

He’s a cute little fellow that’s plain to be seen
He could talk to a Princess a King or a Queen
He’s smart and he’s witty you know what I mean
He’s full of intelligence my Godson Aaron Greene

My sincere condolences and simpathys to Patricia and Dominic on the sad passing of poor gerry. I remember a time going back two years ago dad and I were at the turf and I was talking to gerry on the crescent where dad had left me into boyle and gerry said Martin would you be able to get me a fish and chips and a bottle of water and I ll be waiting for you in the car. I remember he gave me the money before I went in to Roberto's and he said now that's for you for a drink for yourself for doing that kind thing for me. He put a smile on a person's face and he was always very jolly and all of us well miss him very much. Safe home gerry bye bye from martin
