Dear Geraldine, our sincere sympathy. We knew Gerry from meeting him and dog Goldie during walks and it was always a friendly chat and joy to watch the dogs together. That will be a lasting memory.

Dear Geraldine, I have just learned of Gerry's sad passing. I am so sorry to hear it. I have great memories of the relatively brief period we worked together in Monaghan. A gentleman through and through. I know "soulmate" aptly describes your relationship and I pray that God will give you strength at this very difficult time. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

I had the great pleasure of working with Gerry in the 1960s, before and during the strike in 1966. He was a lovely man,a great sense of humour and very warm and supportive nature. I had no idea that he had been living in Sligo as I would have very much liked to have met up with him again. May his gentle soul rest in peace and my deepest sympathies to all the McHugh family.
