Nollaig we are so shocked to hear of Gerrys passing. When he and Nollaig moved down from Dublin to Westport,it didn't take long for him to become part of our circle. Many of us will remember the easy way he settled in at Hobons pub...always ready for a chat, a laugh and good company. He brought warmth and friendliness with him, even for that time. Our thoughts are with you Nollaig and your Family.....we are sorry we can't be there for the funeral but please know we are thinking of you all during this sad time. Rest in peace Gerry.

Gerry was always a gent when us young pups used to invaded his house by the dozen in Knocklyon. It was a good test of patience because we were way too noisy. I remember he would sometimes offer a wedge of wisdom to us young lads as we passed through. As I knew him in later life I’ll remember him as a welcoming host up in Westport. The stove was always lit and all the Dublin flags definitely helped with the welcome :). He loved his family.
