I knew Gerry for nearly 40 years and i counted him as one of my best friends.His personal generousity to me and my family will always be remembered and he was loved and respected in equal measure by the Skins members.He went to special lengths to engage and socialise with the Ulster rugby fraternity at a time when it wasn't easy or popular and he will always be remembered above anybody else for the work he did and the lasting friendships he created.

I remember Gerry from my time in Ballina.1976 to 82.
He was the life and soul of Ballina rugby and never hesitated in hitting any of his coleagues a thump and i mean a thump if he wanted a bit more effort during a match.

I spent a few very happy years in the late 90’s getting the bus up from Galway on a Saturday morning to tog out for BRFC and was supported, encouraged and fed and watered by Gerry and Co. He was a lovely man and a powerhouse of a club man. RIP Gerry.
