I met Gerry on an Australian Genealogy Tour in 1998 and then again with my brother Patrick when we spent the day in Tralee in 1999, Gerry took us home to meet Louise and we enjoyed a very welcome whiskey and their hospitality. It was a very cold February day.

We exchanged Christmas cards regularly and I appreciated hearing their news from Tralee.

Our family are at Filemore, Caherciveen so Gerry's brother as their vet is another connection.

I started my tenure there the day after Kerry won the 75 All Ireland. Gerry couldn't talk that day he was so hoarse.

I only heard yesterday 1st of Oct.about Gerry's death.I am annoyed and saddened not to have known. I have known Gerry only about 25 yrs.Gerry and I used to travel every 6 weeks to Kilkenny to meeting's of the federation of local history societys. He was great company and we alway's had a laugh. I will miss him

We were so sorry to hear of Gerry's death. He and his lovely wife,Louise, were great friends of ours when Gerry worked in the local National Bank. Gerry and I built a 16ft. sailboat in a boatbuilding class in the early 1960's. He was greatly interested in all local activities and his great expertese was hugely appreciated in the many committees on which he served. He was a perfect gentleman and, while we offer our sincerest sympathies to his family, we now know he rests in happiness with his lovely Louise.
