Sincere condolences to Mary, Fiona, James, Frank and extended family. Gerry was a lovely, kind and helpful person and these characteristics are reflected by his siblings. I was away in China for the past two weeks and I was very sad to hear of his passing.

Many years ago the Phelan's lived in Windsor Ave. and my family lived on the same Ave. I went to school with James (St. Joseph's C.B.S., Fairview - both Primary & Secondary) and Gerry, who was a few years older attended the same.

On rare occasions I would meet Gerry briefly 'in passing' and he was always very courteous and would give me a warm welcome.

No doubt he is resting in eternal peace at present.

Condolences to Gerry's family, a fine and decent man who gave his work life to the IWA. He will be deeply grieved by those who knew him. Sincere condolences to the Phelan family. I first met Gerry in Eircom and worked with him in HR. I later worked in collaboration with him as fellow HR Colleagues, in Section 39 organisations. His was extremely generous and insightful with his advice and support. He was tirelessly devoted to equality of treatment of all employees in the health service. May he rest in peace.
