Whenever you met Gerry in the Hyde Park pitch your day was lit up. His smile and the laughter he spread will be missed greatly. He would talk about football, dogs and even Karl Marks. Rest in peace Gerry and deep sympathy to the Wildes' family.

May Gerrys Gentle Soul Rest in Peace. We will miss him so much as will our dogs who adored him and his babysitting visits. A great character and a true gentleman.

Another Dalkey legend gone far too soon. I remember watching 'Harpo' play for Dalkey Utd. A great footballer. In the last few years Gerry walked our dogs around the Town and they loved him. They were so excited when he arrived. We'll miss the banter and laughs with you Gerry. Enjoy that cuppa and biscuit as you fly high.

Always a pleasure to meet up with him when we revisited Dalkey on our hols from Australia, Gerry was the kind neighbour everyone could do with, besides him shopping & attending the garden for my late brother Noel that is what he did for many a neighbour and visited those that could not get out of their houses because of ill health. In our house Harpo was regarded as part of our family. Lately I heard that he asked not for visitors as he was tired and only wanted rest, well Harpo may you rest in peace and may God Bless you for all your kind deeds on this earth. Uncle Gerry - I still remember him taking me to the movies in Glasthule when I was a kid, and all the funny banter at family get-togethers over the years – always had us in stitches. And fond memories of him coming to build our shed in the Brack many years ago.

The amount of people I met over the years who rated him as the best footballer they’d ever seen – I was proud to be his nephew. A gentle and respectful man, and a Bob Marley fan like myself!

Gerry I can’t believe you are gone, we are going to miss you so much. You were always so nice to our pets looking after them, Robbie loved you as did we. I loved to hear the old stories of Dalkey and all the old neighbours. You were always in great form and cheered up my day with your bright wit and enthusiastic views.
