What a great character and beautiful singing voice that entertained us all.She loved talking about her beloved Donegal .We will miss Gertie on our future visits.Thinking of you all.

I am so very sad to hear of Gertie's passing. She arrived in the Sullivan centre in Cavan the same day as my Mum (Anna) and they became great friends. We have fond memories of them walking around constantly looking for Gertie's walking stick. Then the moved to Castleross together which was lovely that they had each other to settle in with. One of my favourite memories is of sitting at the table on a New Years eve evening in Castleross singing songs and laughing with Gertie and my Mum. Her smiling face will be missed x
