I was so sorry to hear of Gertie's passing. I have lovely memories of meeting Gertie especially at Christmas, Easter and summer when she visited the O'Leary family for many years in Bandon. Gertie was always kind and thoughtful. Every Christmas without fail her Christmas card would arrive on the 8th December and I am glad I kept that contact with her up to last Christmas. May Gertie's gentle soul rest in peace.

I am very sorry to hear of Gertie's passing. I met Gertie on many occasions when she came to visit The O'Leary family in Bandon, Gertie was always so pleasant and kind and loved to chat. May she rest in peace.
It’s sad to hear of the passing of Gertie – a kind, warm and generous spirit. Since the 1970’s, Gertie spent her Christmas, Easter and summer holidays in the family home in Bandon. I have fond memories of how much Gertie loved pottering in the garden with my late mother, Mary, on warm summer evenings or trying-out recipes in the kitchen. As the family extended, and we established our own families, Gertie was always a favourite visitor who was very popular with all our children. She joined us in Clonakilty for all our family celebrations over the years and always enjoyed her chats with Grace’s late mother, Mary Lee. She loved touring around West Cork with my sisters, Margaret and Siobhan, and the obligatory shopping trip to Skibbereen was a must.
May she rest in peace in the light of the Lord.
