My deepest and most heartfelt sympathies to all of Gillian’s family on her sad passing. My earliest memories are of her Playschool in the Skibbereen playground and her happy and patient way with all of us, we learned to play and share and made lifelong friends in her capable hands. She started the tastiest sausages ever made with her Roscarbery sausages and never lost her zest for life and new challenges. I enjoyed many chats and laughs with Gillian in latter years in the shop and will miss her smiling face. May her beautiful soul rest in peace. Thinking of you all at this sad time.

Our condolences to John and the Boazman family on Gillian’s death. She was always a pleasure to deal with and her contribution to the understanding of the history of West Cork will be long remembered. May she rest in peace.

Coming from a family of 8 children, we all have very fond memories of our early years with Mrs Boazman in Cork Rd and Market St, Skibbereen. A woman who was ahead of her time and where play, fun and a sense of belonging for all were central to the ethos which she cultivated in the playschool. My heartfelt condolences to all those close to Mrs Boazman who will miss her greatly. May she rest in peace.

A beautiful soul has gone to her eternal reward. Gill pioneered preschool in Skibbereen & was universally loved. She had an incredible degree of patience. While doing so she raised her two boys. Unflappable, kind, caring & generous the children loved “going to school “. They speak fondly of her still; a lovely childhood memory. In later years she returned to UCC to immerse herself in Medieval religious sites; a passion nurtured by her father in childhood. Her body of work was phenomenal & richly deserved the PhD that she was awarded. Gillian was generous in sharing her knowledge with local communities. She will be missed by many. To John, Jacob & Samuel I offer my deepest condolences & those of my family, all of whom benefited from her kind care. May you enjoy eternal peace in the company of your loved ones gone before you & may those who mourn you find comfort in your memory. Slán beo leat Gillian.
