Gloria was warm-hearted, amiable and readily welcomed friends into her home. She was easy to talk to and had a sense of mischief. She will be missed. God rest her soul.

We were so very sad to hear of the death of our dear friend Gloria, after coping so bravely with many years of ill health. She received such loving support from her family and the care home in Ireland, and remained full of good humour and zest for life. Gloria was greatly loved and respected by her many friends in Kent. She was well known in Ashford for her interest in local events and history, and was a hardworking member of the Twinning Association, representing the town on trips to France, Germany and America and hosting foreign friends at her B&B, where her full English breakfasts were legendary. We spent many happy holidays and social events with Gloria, her husband Harry and our families, and we were close friends for over 40 years. We shall always remember the happy times we shared and Gloria and Harry's great sense of humour and generosity.
Gloria adored her family and we send our deepest sympathy, love and thanks to Margaret, Alan, Sophie and Susie for their devoted care of her. Love always from Tessa, Alan and the family. xxxx

Love, prayers and deepest sympathies to Alan, Mags and the girls. So true that Gloria’s ‘gentle kindness’ will be missed, we could use a little more of that everywhere. So glad to have known your mother, Alan. Gloria always made me feel so welcome and I always felt the warmth of her motherly love. May she rest in peace in the eternal mercy of our Lord.

Dear Alan and Margaret and family,
So sorry to hear of your loss of your mother.
Gloria was a lovely, funny and warm hearted soul who enjoyed life while she was healthy and I hope you take some comfort in knowing you did everything you could to make her later years as happy as possible.
I'm sorry I can't make it to the service but hopefully we can all meet up one day and share stories of the days gone by.
