Gobnait and I shared many happy times as student nurses in Cork, Ireland and pupil midwives in Suffolk,UK and travelling in Europe. She is a friend I will always remember in my prayers. May her dear soul rest in peace.

I’m so sorry for your loss.
I didn’t know much about your mum, but from everything I’ve heard from people here and the stories you’ve shared, she sounds like such a selfless and loving person. The world was truly a better place with her in it.

We first met Robin and Gobnait when they were on their honeymoon in Tunisia in march 1980 .from that time we became firm friends visiting them often in Canterbury whitstable blackwater south Devon and in our home in Wolverhampton .Gobnait was always full of life and good humour and will be sadly missed by all the Yates family Dave yolande Joanna Alex and Julia .the last time we saw them was for a curry in stourport on Severn .3 years ago (a lovely evening ) it’s been a privilege to know such a lovely family .God bless you Gobnait and love to Robin and Miriam

I was fortunate enough to know Gobnait through her daughter, Miriam. She was an amazing woman who people gravitated towards due to her warmth and kindness.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of dear Gobnait. As neighbours in BCU, we feel truly fortunate to have known her, even for a short time. From the very first day, her warm welcome, gentle presence, and kind conversations made us feel at home.

Thinking of Miriam (Mims) and her family at such a sad time. I have known Mims since school and throughout university. Gobnait was such a lovely lady, always welcoming whenever we visited, making us dinner and happy to chat about university life. She helped me during my training for work and kept in touch over the years wishing me well and sending a wedding gift. I know how important she was to Mims and she will be such a loss. However, the happiness she brought will never be forgotten. Lots of love to the family xx

I’m so sad to hear of the passing of Miriam’s mum, Gobnait. Mims and I have been friends for a few years now and I can that see so many of her lovely qualities came from her mum and I would have loved to meet her in person. All my love to the entire family.
