I'm very sad to hear that Gordon has left us. I'll miss our regular chats on the phone which we've been having over nearly 30 years since Gordon retired, we last spoke less than 2 months ago when he sounded in great form and we were due to chat again around now so this news is quite a shock.
Gordon was my guide and mentor when I joined Customs Division 2 in September, 1991 in advance of decentralisation to Nenagh which happened the following June, he was a fount of knowledge on Customs law and I'm deeply indebted to him for all his support and advice. Sincere condolences to Paul and Kathryn and extended families. I'm sorry that I cannot get to Dublin for the funeral but I'll be thinking of you. Farewell Gordon, rest easy.

I very much regret I'm unable to attend Gordon't funeral Mass or Mount Jerome service due to current family circumstances.
