I was deeply saddened to hear of Goretti’s passing. Over the years in Leinster Mart Carlow she became more than someone I met through the office – she became a true friend. When ill health meant I wasn’t attending the Mart as often as I would have liked, Goretti often rang to keep in touch, as recent as a couple of weeks before her passing, a gesture I will never forget. She had such a genuine interest in other people even though she was fighting her own battle. Carlow Mart will never be the same without her – her presence will be greatly missed. My heartfelt sympathy to her husband, two daughters and all her family and friends at this very sad time.
