Regina, so very sorry to hear this sad news. So many wonderful memories of ‘singing’ with Greg and of us following him around from one gig to another in our teens - his groupies. He had such a wonderful talent and the many Saturday night gigs in the South William will always be remembered. Deepest condolences on your great loss.

Deepest sympathies to Greg’s family and many friends on this sad news of his premature passing. Greg was some man for one man. He was a genuinely gifted singer with a unique, golden, gravely voice. I lived with him for a while in Charlestown outside Mullingar and we became good friends, enjoying great chats long into the next morning about music and everything else. The band that brought him into the Dire Straits world, Cunla, were brilliant and it was great that Greg got to meet, play and record with some of his heroes. Not many get to say they did that, and it was good to know he lived musically ever after our in the wild West. RIP

I'd met Greg when we were only teenagers and was honored to call him my boyfriend for many years and shared a lot of love for eachother. He was the most talented, loving and caring person i've ever met. Greg and I together had a huge circle of friends, friends for life which still remains today. Some of my best memories were made with Greg and i will treasure them forever and always carry Greg in my thoughts. I’m sorry we never got the chance to get together one last time for a good old gig and reminisce. We had a good laugh over the years and a lot of great gigs. We had our arguments and disagreements but I’ll always remember the good times, and we really had some good times. I tried reconnecting with you over the last 10 years but never got a reply. Keep on Rocking!

How we followed you around from gig to gig, copied your leather trousers and got introduced to the greats - Leonard Cohen, The Doors and all the others, through your music. You brought our family together through your songs, we always wanted uncle Greg and his guitar at every party. But we were the lucky ones, the insiders, that got to spend time with you after performing. Your gentle and calm nature was always so easy to be around, your thoughts on the world interesting and deep. I’ll never forgot the incredible memories we shared and the mischief we all got up to… you, Gina, Carol and I. I’ll miss you immensely Greg… til we sing together again….x

Over the past few years we got to know Greg so well while down in Mount Falcon and we had the pleasure of sharing some great nights, laughs, tears and music together. He was a fantastic musician and such a Gentleman in every way. Greg added a lot of joy to our lives. He will be so sorely missed by us many many more.

Possibly the best time of my life was going to the yukon in Mullingar to see Cúnla play on Monday nights. Greg sang his heart out! Steve thumped the beat Jay kept the groove and Johnny played the guitar beautifully. It was the highlight of the week for a long time. And now they're just memories. He had a completely unique voice and a good soul. We will all miss him.

Losing a dear friend like Greg feels like a weight on the heart. We started out just as singing companions, bound by the joy and energy of entertainment, but soon enough, we became close friends who truly understood each other. Greg’s voice was like no other, filled with a depth of warmth and richness that made every note unforgettable.
