Dear Pauline, Philip and Jennifer, I am so sorry for your loss. Like many who have offered their condolences here, I am so fortunate to have known Greg and to have had the honour of working with him over several decades. We soldiered together on many projects and he was a valued friend and trusted colleague throughout. Greg always brought a clear vision and inherent wisdom to everything he did and everybody who worked with him benefited from his intelligence and pragmatism. He achieved all this with the greatest humility, utmost integrity and a fine sense of humour. May you rest in peace, Greg. Ave atque vale!

My sincere condolences on Greg’s passing (which I only heard about at a meeting yesterday). I had the pleasure of getting to know and work with Greg when he acted as an external examiner on our TUDublin (then DIT) BSc. Geomatics programme for a number of years, and then more recently when I joined the Property Registration Authority as a board member. In both roles I valued Greg’s expertise and professional guidance, and is fondly remembered today. May he rest in peace.

I was very sorry to hear about Greg's death.
He was a kind man who helped me out on numerous occasions. A dedicated public servant who was conscientious, pragmatic and dependable. We laughed a lot while getting through the work and I valued his judgement greatly. He will be missed by all of us. My sympathy to the McDermott and extended family.
