It is with great regret and profound .sadness that I learnt today of the passing of my very dear friend Gretta. I have only the happiest memories of the year I stayed in No 10 Munchins Terrace with Jack, Mary, Greta & Toby the dog (who for some reason never befriended me) while I took on my first teaching post in Bruree NS- nothing but wonderful memories. Greta & I became great friends and even though we hadn’t met physically for a good few years we always exchanged cards and news at Christmas & 2021 was no exception. Greta was one of the kindest and most practical people I knew. Christopher and Anna you were blest to have had such a wonderful mother and she was so proud of all your wonderful achievements (and rightly so) My deepest sympathies to you both and especially to you Seán. My sympathies also to the Walsh family. Had I known about her passing I would’ve attended some part of her funeral. May God grant her peace amongst the angels … she was a very hard working, kind, gentle person - now it’s her time to rest. I’ll have a Mass read for her gentle soul. May you rest in the arms of the angels my friend
