Dear Granny,

Growing up around your love and grace has been a blessing. I’m so thankful for everything that’s enriched our lives, you’ve been there every step of the way. Smiling, laughing and hugging Chloe and I at every opportunity. Your love and warmth for family is something I’ll bring forward with me to my own family. Stories of Ireland, dancing in London during the war and of course your Christmas rissoles will always make me smile. I love you and now wish you peace alongside Grandad, you’ll be forever in my heart.

As a close cousin to my Mother, Mary Finn nee Lennon, of Cornalaragh (my grandmother Kate Duffy of Ballynagearn), she was very much part of my life. It is with deep regret we hear of the passing of Gretta. Gretta and our Aunt Winnie Smyth (Duffy) were great pals back during their younger days in Magheracloone. Winnie spoke of Gretta often and fondly and will, no doubt, be saddened at this news. Sincere condolences to the McArdle and Duffy families: may her gentle soul Rest in Peace.
