Hakeem always spoke with great love and pride about his family and I personally feel I know each of you. He was a very special person and a pleasure to work with. Uncle Hakeem! I was shocked to hear of your passing and this has truly hurt me. Though we haven’t been in contact over the past couple of years, I can say you have left a positive imprint on my life and from reading some of these condolences, on the lives of so many others as well. I remember when I used to come to stay with you and Aunty Bunmi and the kids during my summer holidays, or when I was in DCU and I would randomly bump into you at the bus stop or on the bus and we would have long chats about life and my studies and you would tell me about your life and experiences. You thrived at whatever obstacles life threw at you and your energy lives on.
You taught me that life is not easy and it is not hard, it is what you make it and define it to be for yourself and that is a lesson that I will cherish forever. Thank You.
