So sorry to hear of Hanna’s passing, she was such a lady and I always looked up to her and her sisters when I visited the Smyth’s in Main Street, Cavan on those Sundays when they came to lunch, may she rest in peace 🙏🏻

I’m so sorry to learn of Hanna’s passing. I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Hanna on a project for early school leavers in the Curriculum Development Unit in the late 1970s. She was a most wonderful colleague. She combined particular expertise in guidance and counselling with a wealth of wisdom and insights into the developmental needs of young people. She was a pioneer in social and health education. Hanna had a great sense of humour and a wide range of interests across the arts. She introduced me and others to the pleasures of golf and I remember her strong advocacy of equal rights for women in that field. I learned so much from Hanna and I will always be grateful for having known and worked with her. Deepest sympathies to all her family and friends.

I Will so miss my lovely friend Hanna from our Crumlin College days to trips visiting Elizabeth Chute and lunches in Elm Park. Remembering her with much love.

My mother Sarah Troy nee Pearse sends her deepest condolences to Hanna’s family. She has such fond memories of growing up with all the O’Briens and is deeply saddened at her passing. She regrets she was unable to
attend her funeral but Hanna is very much in her thoughts and prayers.
