Harry (Henry) Dowdall

I am sad to hear of Harry's passing. I played football for Ardmont and worked in Aer Lingus with Harry and found him to be a gentleman and one of the fittest people I ever knew. R.I.P. HARRY.

As has been mentioned Harry excelled in the many sports he played, and I particularly remember the fun we had in the Ardmore Crescent Volleyball team (although Harry always took each game seriously). Very sad to hear of Harry's passing. It was a privilege to work with him in Aer Lingus and play different sports with him, in all of which he excelled. He was a great all round sportsman and a first class friend and colleague. Our heart felt sympathy to Ellen and all the family.

I am so saddened to hear of Harry's death. He was a true gentleman and such a friendly neighbour in Ardmore Crescent, always having time for a chat. After his soccer-playing days were over he joined some us in Aer Lingus Athletic Club for training runs on a Thursday evening around the back roads of Dublin Airport, and we thoroughly enjoyed his company.

Very sorry to hear of Harry's passing and sincere condolence to all the family . I remember Harry from our Aer Lingus soccer days and he was a real gentleman. He always had a lovely smile for you. I also played a couple of years for Ardmont Utd in the AUL league in early 80's, when he was manager there. The highlight for me as a local "Sylvester" under Harry's management, was beating Malahide Utd. in their own patch.

Deepest syspathies to Ellen and family on the passing of Harry from the staff and members of ALSAA. Harry worked there following his retirement from Aer Lingus and played soccer for the Airline for what seemed like 'decades'. A thorough gentleman, off the pitch anyway, he will be missed by all.
