Sincere condolences to all of Harry’s family. Harry was my boss in my first job in the office in Krups. He was a gentleman. May he rest in peace.

Harry always had such spirit in life he would enjoy the oul beer and whisky he basked in the company of others for in his home and hearth he gave us the joy of song and memory he had nicknames for all his grandchildren (Am I right Sparky) in his later years he'd always be a gentleman and scholar that shared wisdom with his grandkids when it came to homework and stories to keep the boredom at bay (He told me the stories of the years after the war or the emergency as the common people would call it I love history I couldn't help but just sit down and listen to him talk to me about it) .. he was a friend to the people who were but passers-by he'd offer them a warm chair by the fire but most importantly he was a dear father to his children for they are the last living memory of the man so cherish them while they are here now before you for Harry has parted this world and has been reunited with the one he loved the most his wife Terry.. Harry may have forgotten himself sometimes but he never forgot the fierce love of his dear family and in our hearts he was loved by us all and we shall all raise a parting glass to Harry for he was the rebel who sang his last post and chorus he was my hero my friend my father my grandfather my family he was my soul He is my Memory and he shall never be seen by us again but on Fiddlers Green ..

The Title I chose was from the opening lines of The Rare Old Times sang by the Dubliners its a fitting cause In my Generation I grew up with stories of my grandparents how they met after the emergency raised 4 kids they gave their children everything so we wouldn't know that world today ... But today one of those hardships is the knowing that the man you see before you is the man who raised us on song stories on laughter on joy is no more on this good green earth .

When those you love die, the best you can do is honor their spirit for as long as you live. You make a commitment that you're going to take whatever lesson that person was trying to teach you, and you make it true in your own life... It's a positive way to keep their spirit alive in the world, by keeping it alive in yourself.

My Grandfather's lesson to me was the kindness of his heart for it was gold and pure of love and I will carry that on to my own children one day
